Cars in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were contacted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then located many other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials say preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for details.

An important representative stated the vandalism left him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
